I've got a front diff that needs to go, doesn't feel lose, no play. It does four and a bit turns to one ( I'm a bit thick when it comes to ratios  ) I have no idea what it's for or what it's worth, so please someone help so I can put it in the for sale section

count the number of teeth on the crownwheel and the pinion. That'll tell you what ratio you have.

Put a bit of tipex on the edge so you know where you started and get counting. It sounds like it might be a SJ413 diff (3.9:1) but it could be a sammy diff (3.7:1).

It's a 410 axle then I would imagine, espiecially if you used the CVs for your LJ ;)

TBH 410 diffs aren't worth much, might be worth keeping as well, LJs are geared pretty low so you might decide that you want taller gearing using 410 diffs.

Scottie that is part of what I'm trying to get, was it a 410 or 413. Once the front axle is sorted and back on, I will turn the car round and check what's in the rear, so I don't end up with odd gearing.
So the two front diffs I have are

From the LJ axle. 41 teeth, 4.5 input rotations to 1 crown wheel rotation

From the Unknown axle. 37 teeth, 4.25 to 1

Thanks for the help

is the diff the same size as the lj ones bolt pattern wise? if so its 410, should be 4.11:1

Doesn't fit in the axle, should SJ diffs fit into LJ axle? and the bolt spacing is different

sometimes I wonder how people post the same thing twice, now I have and I still don't get how. So please ignore this post, it has no meaning
