How do I remove the steering wheel?

Can anyone offer advice as to how to remove my steering wheel....I need to replace the indicator stalk and have bough a second hand unit but I think I need to remove the steering wheel to fit it

Just make sure you leave a turn of the nut still on the thread when you pull the wheel to release it otherwise it will break your face

Many thanks..did as you advised it came off easy after a persuasion with a hammer ....job done!
