how to read oil level on dipstick

hello guys need help on reading the oil level dipstick on my suzuki grand vitara 07 ddis. having trouble reading it. pls help. Im confused wheres the max mark and the min mark some mechanic confused me telling me different ways to read. Atm my oil level is just above the end of the round shape of the dipstick so i guess its below minimum.

I don't have the same engine but I'd say the bottom mark is min and then the scale and the top mark is max. So yes you're below min I think. Others will confirm.

Hello sz5 yeah thats what im thinking but mechanic said that the max mark is the 1st line from the bottom. Thats why im confused. Thanks for the reply

Hello , I would suggest beware of overfilling as oil expands( increases in volumes when hot).
Would suggest filling to 3/4's of measurement between lower and higher levels.
