2016 Vitara Touch Screen Security Pin

After disconnecting the battery this afternoon I am now prompted for a 'security pin' when starting the car on the touch screen infotainment unit.

I have never set such a code and have tried a few typical default codes - 1111, 1234 but only have 3 more attempts left, and wonder once they're all used up is the unit essentially useless or can I reset the 5 attempts somehow?

Any ideas please?

Use the last 4 digits of your chassis number located at the P/S of the windscreen. Good luck !
