Hi all,
Has anyone put led bulbs or led units onto their jeeps ?
I was thinking of possible upgrading my headlights and rear tail lights to led units.
Any views or info would be interesting to know.

I've got these on the back of mine

Seem fine and had them on a few years.

I needed to fit a new LED suitable relay for the indicators, so about another tenner.

Mine already had rear LED's, will try to find the section of build thread to show you as it was the previous owner that did it. I had converted my side lamps and indicators to LEDs with EU marked eBay specials, and replaced the side indicators bulbs with LED's.

I think you should be able to fit LED bulbs to the headlamps, but unsure about the legality of entire headlamp units. I know some people have fitted new lamps that aren't strictly legal, hopefully someone will be along soon to shed some more light on this (excuse the pun).

LED headlight bulbs are often crap. You have to be careful as they're often made in such a way that they don't throw the correct light pattern, meaning you'll fail an MOT even with the headlights adjusted properly.

They're also often no brighter than standard bulbs for most cars, but with the weakass headlights we have to put up with, I doubt they can be worse.

I did swap all my bulbs to LED's apart from the headlight bulbs on my offroading Zuk - and I'd read really good things about "Cougar Motor" LED headlight bulbs, and I was going to get a set but I had to get rid of my Zuk before I got the chance. I was planning on swapping every bulb on the vehicle to LED, mainly for reliability, but also to put less strain on the Zuk's aging wiring.

I've swapped out the brake bulbs on my "shiny" zuk to Osram bulbs, and very happy with them I am. Just be careful to test them when you fit them, as they will put out full power (brake light levels of power) when you turn on the sidelights if you fit them one way around, with the brake pedal doing nothing to make them brighter. Rotating them 180 degrees makes them work correctly.

Basically, one pin on the bulb lights up half the LED's, the other pin lights up *all* of the LED's. So be careful how you install them.

My 2016 Vitara has LED dip beams which are very good. However I have the problem from new that the auto operation does not work properly. The lights switch on in bright sunlight and switch off in fog and heavy cloud during the day. I have the case of the lights switching off in a thunder storm and switched on as I drove out from under the storm cloud to bright sunlight. The dealer cannot fix. Anybody have any experience of this.

Does anyone have experience with these, from Holland? And I understand you need to change indicator relay to get the flash frequency back to normal, I suppose it flashes very fast otherwise?
I need a light cluster that is standard to keep the original SJ look

When buying the LED flasher relay just check the polarity of yours before you order. Jap and Spanish SJs use opposite polarity flasher relays.

I bought some cheap ones off ebay from India, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REAR-BRAKE-L ... 2749.l2649 the quality is ok, but I haven't actually tried them yet as all my SJs are in pieces at the mo
