Heavy bang when braking

Hi all, my 96 Sammy has developed a heavy bang at the back end when I brake both foward and backward, I cannot see any thing loose no broken bushes or springs, the brakes work fine, the bang is so hard its like you have hit some thing. could it be the diff any help would be helpful cos I am running out of ideas, under progressive braking it dosnt happen

hi fellow,, if i were you, i would whip the rear drums off and check the shoes. but the load bang sounds like a broken spring leaf or bush. if you hold the prop, can you push the axle/diff casing up and down??.
