SJ410 carb set up

Hi all.
I have an 88 Santana SJ410 that I have recently fired up after 15 years.
The idle speed on startup was very high so I tried to slow it down with the idle adjustment screw but no luck. After a bit of faffing I disconnected the carb solenoid and idle speed returned to normal.
I assume that the solenoid is for fast idle but I have nothing switched on electrically.
I believe the carb is original (not an SU) and I have looked through the forum but I can't find any pictures for carb setup for these original 410 carbs.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to why the fast idle is always on (unless I unplug the solenoid) and how to set it up please?
