new engine

Post by jutwit » Fri Nov 20, 2009 11:46 pm

ive been given suzuki wagon r on a t plate that failed the mot for rust, i had it to put the seats in my sj, but i was wondering if any body knows if the engine will fit into my sj? its a 1.3 fuel inj and runs as sweet as a nut. most manufacters dont make new engines for new cars cos it costs to much they tend to use and modify ones that are used in other cars in the range and hoping this is the case. if it will fit how much hassle is it to wire up fuel inj? any help or ideas would be great.
thanks
justin

everything will fit, its just a case of making it

with regards to the fuel injection, assuming you'r right and they do just use a modified block you should be able to find a inlet manifold with a carb fitted thus removing the need to fanny around wiring up ECU's injectors etc.

from memory mind.

i think that engine is the 1.3 ga 16v,(if its a late one.) as fitted in the ignis, early ^2001 jimny.

mighty fine engine.

if it is (big black plastic cover on top)go on difflock and speak to the jimny owners.
they should be able to point you in the right direction.
