Rusty holes in my boot T reg vitara 1.6

Post by woodbob » Sat Aug 21, 2021 12:42 pm

Hi all made a mistake with the date of mot thought I had a month+ but had 2 days left managed to get a pre mot done main fault both side of boot rusted through.
Can I weld these up from inside?
Are repair panels available?
Does any one know of a welder who can travel to Didcot rather than the purchase of a machine for 1 job.
How much of a job is this I'm an old (70) retired Maintenance fitter so can weld and use a hammer.
Finally they mentioned a bit of rust on chassis which may make my question academic will be looking later so may be back.
Thanks Robert.

Main issue is its so close to the seat belt mount.

Ideally for a good job some work would need to be done from underneath.

For an MOT job it can be done from the inside to a suitable standard then just wire brushed and painted on the underside for protection.
