Just a little annoyance really....... I'll let the old girl warm up before i reduce the choke...but i cant let it fully off even when i've driven miles......i've had the truck stationary after a drive off'd the choke and tightened the screw on the carb just so it was idling nicely...driving it today and same problem! Also when i'm chuggin along at a steady pace it can be slightly juddery?
Any metal work i can do standing on my head.......when it comes to engines.......i seek assistance

what carb u running. it sounds like a slight air leak, possably butterfly spindal.
or if you have points, could be gap whats adjustin.
with the carb, start the engine and hold it on steady revs just above tickover, and spay wd40 around the carb,(not loads) if the engine revs pick-up thats the air leak.

distributor,, the thing on the rear of the head.
i had a simular proplem with a volkswagen camper, that was the mixturescrew came out of the carb. trouble is, without being there i could go on saying its this or that.
it does sound like a fuel proplem?.
