anyone got any ideas why my sj wont burst into life? :|
tried the fuel tank for petrol-its got a plastic tank mounted in the back with an electric fuel pump.thats all ok,then took fuel pipe off su carb and swithed fuel pump on,and plenty of petrol getting thru.
also tried taking out a spark plug and laying it on the engine, then turned motor over on the key to check spark-not the brightest but still a spark all the same.
theres no air filter on at the moment, would that be anything to do with it?
maybe its ready for the great sj place in the sky :| :|

if its not a great spark it could be the coil, my 1.3 used to do the same thing and then when it ran it would just cut out changed the coil it was great after that good spark, started fine

if its a 410 has it got points ignition? if so the weak spark is probably a faulty condenser or incorrect points gap.
if u get stuck let me know i live in brighton so not far away i'll call round and give u a hand if needed.
cheers kev.
