Hi Folks,

Thanks for taking the time to have a look. On my SJ410 the engine just stopped dead. Found i have no spark at the plug or at the ht lead out of the coil. There is a a relay type thing strapped to my coil which gets extremely hot. I'm not sure what this electrical thing is. Can you buy these seperatly or do they come with a new coil?

Could anyone give me any pointers please?

Engines are not my thing but love driving my SJ.

Many Thanks

Andy.

The "thingy" you refer to on the coil is a Ballast Resistor. If you put this in the Search Section there are many references to it and I'm sure you will find the details and answers you need.

if its getting hot and no spark u will probably find that either your points have closed up or your condensor has shorted out. fit new points and condensor and should cure problem.

cheers kev
