Hear it is...

Spec:

1987 Fiat Panda Sisley body

Suzuki Samurai chassis, axles t box

Ford P100 1.8 td engine and gear box

Inside the majority of the hard work is done. I just need to fit the pedals, dash and seats, and possibly an internal fuel tank, along with a bit of welding hear and there.

The suspension is rubbish! Im not a big fan of SPOA, and the weight of the engine has caused it to bend the wrong way, so im looking into disco axles with coils all round.

Image

The engine has done about 94K, and has all the bits in the boot to make it work, dont have any experience with them so i will see how it goes, sump looks like a problem though.

The plan of attack is to get the body off, get the engine re assembled and get it running then crack on with the axles.

Wish me luck Henry

I remember years ago I was at weardale off road and a bloke there had a Fiat Panda 4x4. Not quite as pointless as a new rangerover or one of them porsche things but still utterly useless off road.

From the sounds of the mod's in the pipeline it'll be some kinda freak of nature.

Liking it!

jordi from what i have seen, the 4x4 fiats are good offroad!

Anyway today i spend a hour lifting the body off so i can get to engine and gear box easily.

It appears the engine isnt welded in, which is good as i want to change the mounts so i can put some rubber mounts in there.

A few pics of the engine.

This is causing concern as i found it in the back and appears to fit on the oil filter housing but i dont know what it is, or what it does or if its necessary?

A friend of mine is sourcing me a set of 300tdi axles to go under her :)

This weekend i plan to move the chassis from the yard to home where i can rebuild the engine.

That's cool. That engine looks HUGE on the SJ chassis compared to the G10 and G13s

Hey henry! it's looking good! I just saw your post on difflock about the props, I'm sure if you have a good look you should be able to modify either of the flanges to accept either the sj props or the landy props. I'll have a look for you as i've got some landy props lying around.
