sounds like wheel bearing rotation noise, and there is play at the wheel so i know its probably just the bearing, but could it be anything else aswell?

is there a bearing at the end of the half shaft too? or is this where the wheel bearing is located?
or is the bearing on the drum?

cheers
dave

The bearing is on the half-shaft, at the drum end of it...

Once you take the shaft out, I think the easiest way is to cut the collar off with a grinder (carefully)
Then you can get the bearing off...
There's no bearing on the diff end of the shaft (except the side bearing that the shaft goes into in the diff)

Sounds like it is just your bearings, as twiss sed, just one set of bearings to change, but probably best to do both sides in one go! but definatly get them done! i had a bearing go on me once, fortunatly i pulled over in time, wheel only fell of when it was being ratchetted down to the tow truck, but could easily have been a very different story!
