I took my sj out last night for the first time since rebuilding the tbox and done some hill climbs. I have recently fitted a nikki carb which runs perfect normally, but it would cut out if I got stuck on a steep incline, but fine on a decline. Is there any sort of mod I can do to solve this problem ( float height etc )?

I don't think hardly anyone runs a Nikki. I know folks have run into the same problem with Webbers, and it was something about the spring and needle I think.

It's something to do with the float setting. Apparently with the webers you can adjust the float and it will work properly.
I think I might have found a web page about it when I was researching into carbs....
