Don't think my SJ would pull anything bigger than a wheelbarrow!

Fit a diesel engine in it and yes maybe a small one,
1.0 or 1.3 engine forget it, your never get up the first hill (4wd low,first gear excluded )

I think a friend took a really tiny caravan on holiday, but hes crazy and went to collect a car with his 410, he came home through the peak district with his new car towed on a car dolly,

I wouldn't have fancied it! My Sammy struggled enough with just a motorbike trailer on the back (with 2 bikes)

erm i would say not a very large load
probably be able to get away with a small garden trailer

but i wouldnt really try it wih my 21ft caravan

I've only used mine for towing a couple of times, but only manouvering our big ass trailer around as we refurbed it. To get up the ramp (pretty steep and not smooth, I'll get a picture of it) on the back drive I had to go into 4 low to get it up without wrecking my clutch. Other than that it seemed happy enough. The trailer in question was bought along with a 413 that my Stepdad had years ago, and he used to haul it around with that. The SJ was traded for a L**d R***r and he kept the trailer :uh: I reckon the trailer weighs a third to a half of a ton, maybe more.

i think it sounds more like a tank, rather then the pulling power of one

I doubt you'll find a caravan light enough unless it's very small

Towing weights for an SJ are
Braked trailer 1100 kgs
Unbraked trailer 500 kgs

height shouldn't make too much of a difference TBH as you will need to lower a tow ball quite a lot on alifted sj to tow a caravan.

I'm sure it will be fine! I've towed my dads old 5-series bmw estate before with the 1.6 8v and 33s and it had no trouble up hills

I towed it with a rope it had broken down
