right the idea was to take my old zuke van and do a few mods as cheeply as possible, well after she failed the mot badly that plan went out the window and was replaced by the plan of lets see what we can build.

so the story so far is, after a spoa lift, and moving the axles an inch either way it wasn't really what i was after, after having done a few p+p's and one challenge this year it was time to rebuild. time for me to be the driver and no longer the winch bitch.

having looked though the shell it was pretty obvious the it was pretty shot, well it was easily sorted by using a 9" grinder

was quite happy with the way it was sitting, but I had a bit of opps with the rear tray, 100mm too narrow doh!

so, that got welded up and off we went to play, and then we came back, not overly happy with the way the rear braces on the cage were, having got wedged in between some trees trying to get to a punch and the cage getting stuck time for a redesign and some more bracing in the roof aswell as time for it to be one colour.

had run out of gaffa tape, :hahaha: needed to use something!

will have some more pics soon, yesterday didn't go to plan, the font control arms are too narrow!!!! they sit inside the landcruiser chassis. took the axle into work and jigged up for the king pins, more mods on the way then :D

quite happy with the rear of the cage but still got issues with the front clip, it rubs the tyres and keeps getting bashed and generally abused so it's going being replaced by more tube work

had a look around the tray today, haven't got enough room to put the battery there, so i'm going to use a set of front inner arches slighhtly modded to use the battery tray and give the engine some protection, by losing the wings and bringing the tubes forward of the orriginal body work should allow me to move the front axle forward by 6" or so allowing me to run 35's without any other body mods.
got issues with the drive train, keep snapping half-shafts, now whether it's my right foot the vit diffs or the tyres, dunno? but the axles are going to be replaced with lj70 cruiser axles, if i break these i'm giving up!

nice and easy conversion? no, the rear axle and radius arms will go onto the chassis nicely.
the front not so simple, the radius arms when bolted to the axle sit at 695mm crs, where i want to mount them the chassis sits at 700mm outside to outside, hmmmmm. so the axle has gone into work to have the mounts cut off and rejigged, they'll be parallel sitting at 790mm.

started to clean the rear axle today, who ever owned the toy before it went to the scrapper's was mad keen on underseal, both axles were covered in it, so they're cleaning up really well 8-)

a few other mods that have been done

shamelessly stole the idea from zero, started with a lasered disc, but the offset was way too big, so ended up using the same disc as rockwatt used.

made this too, goes some way to protecting the transfer case
