Is it easier to take the engine out to change a box, or remove the transfer box etc as my haynes suggests?

I'm new to SJ owner ship so any suggestions welcome.

Tbh honest there isn't much difference, if you have access to a engine crane id just whip the engine and gearbox out in one unit, if not then its not hard to just take the gearbox out on the floor, don't even need to remove the tbox but it does make it a bit easier if you do.

On a ramp I can do a clutch in under 1hour so it'll prob take around 2 on the floor.

It's a piece of cake, even from underneath! I've had to replace my clutch twice on this one, and one on my last SJ!
All done on the floor...

I should be more careful with clutches I think!
