thicknesses of metal/type

bit of a newbie to bodywork

but need to plate my boot of my sj and wondered what thickness of metal i need/recommend and what type of metal like ali , steel etc

Cut all the old out, putting ridges in is a ball ache!

Id say 2-2.5 mm! Just redone the front of a trailer in 2mm.

saw that so 2mm it is then ;)

going to ask a silly question but you mean like ridges ? , like cutting V in it or the ridges on the boot floor ? :poke: :er: :lol:

the ridges on the boot floor. I have just done a bit of my boot floor and 3 plates were in the ridged area. its a right pain compared to just replacing it flat.

ahh fare enough though you met that :lol: , well most of the stuff i need to be plated is around the edges anyway :lol:
