Pressed the new bearing and stop collar on just now and the stop collar fell straight off again afterwards

Looks like its the wrong part, bearing is ok but the collar is too big only very very slightly

Anything i can do dont suppose you can get the colar separate and i dont really want to be buying a new kit

Well I would get on to whoever supplied that kit. If the collar is not a really tight fit the shaft will move out and potentially cause a serious accident. I have heard of them coming adrift before and people have added a little tack weld to make sure they can't come off. Never known one to be loose straight from the packet. The only place in the UK to get just the collar is Suzuki as far as I know, don't think their very expensive.

The ones i bought where FT! (second word tight  )

Again hear of people tacking them but remember you may need to get them off. have you got the bearing all the way down? If i remember correctly the shaft ends are tapered?

Yeah its right down to the stop, i pressed them on together down the shaft and then i heard something drop on the floor when i removed it from the press, it was the collar

Il ring suzuki tomorrow thanks for the part number big help. I bet it would be a right laugh explaining it down the phone.

"erm yeah hi, i was sliding my ring down my shaft and it just fell straight off, i think i need more girth on the shaft or a smaller ring"

"wrong number mate"
