going to put a side exhaust on my sj (3.5inch tip) , plan is going to come up through the rear floor and exit in out the rear wing near the boot
but aparently you cant get a mot with it this high ? and i wont be aable to get one as its on the pavment side when driving down the road.. so is there a certain hight it needs to go at ? but i have seen a few bland rovers do this
seen this but would this be legal ?
i know parrot had a side exhaust on his fourtrak/madtrak/tomb raider thing whatever it got called but how did that get through a mot

Where did you hear that, I've seen loads of landies with them on pavement side and higher than it'd be on an SJ.

Personally I don't think there is any better place for the exhaust than where they are as standard.

Damn right scott! My only annoyance with the standard place is the bend they put at the end.
It just means that if you reverse into something it will snap the pipe out of the box!

Then when you're stationary the gas gets in

I think the best thing to do with the exhaust is to take the manifold, put that on, and nothing else.
