the brakes on my sammy are a pain in the arse. i don't use the car very often then when i do one side will seize on pulling me across the road and i have to strip it all to bits

it normally sticks after offroading

is this common?

any ways to stop it? eg different calipers?

when you park your car dont use your handbrake or brakes just put it in gear and use some thing to block the front wheels it happend on my truck when i left the handbrake on back wheels locked on when i moved the vehicle

Its the front brakes that stick!

Yes it's a common problem, I had to strip and clean mine only a couple of weeks back as one was dragging and over heating
I believe they can be swapped for vitara brakes IE caliper and vented discs, but am unsure which model SWB or LWB. Reconditioned SJ calipers are about £100 each so not ideal. You can get seal/refurb kits for the SJ from "brakesinternational" but these are not on there website, you have to ring them. I have no idea what these cost though or quite what you get (just a seal and dust cover?? or piston as well??). Or just struggle on saying I'll change the buggers next time, but just clean them up again, or is that just me

They are a lot better now I've cleaned them but I must have got some grease on them somewhere.

I suppose I'll just have to strip them every time I go to a p+p
