Have this info on my build thread and thought I would share it incase you haven’t dropped by in awhile.
Here is a little twist to the Rock 4x high trans mount.
The Rock 4x mount was purchased so I didn’t have to make all the parts from scratch. Wanted to say there was nothing wrong with what Scott offers and made a good platform for what I had in mind for my Rig.
With the mods made for strength and has an angle plate mount that is welded to the inside of the frame rail after fish plates were added. The mount now rides on top of the angle plate mount and is bolted in place and can be removed.
Here is what was done to the backbone of the high trans mount to strengthen before adding it as a removable structural support in my Rig.
Added a series of ribs to the outer side of the backbone out of ½” wide x 1/4” thick plates. This was the strength part.
Found that the mount needed to be lowered a bit because the body is still on the frame and I need to be able to run a weld bead along the top of the frame angle mount. This was done by adding a ¼” plate to the top of the mount and using the supplied 3/8” thread top plates to the bottom side of the modded backbone. This gave me just enough room to get the welder head in to get that upper bead done.
Here is a pic with captions to help in understanding what was done.
Before starting on the mod the trans needed to remain centered before removing the stock rear rubber mount. There were wood wedges made to push between the tunnel and trans housing to hold it securely from moving.
I also checked the (motor mounting angle) to be sure it was the same after the load of the new mount with weight on it remained the same. This was done before burning in the angle mount brackets. Used a block of wood on the Zuk scissor jack to lift the trans just a little bit to remove the rear rubber mount.
Pic has captions to help illustrate what was done. The fish plates are burned in and the angle mounting bracket is clamped in place with the supplied 3/8” threaded plate located on the bottom side of the backbone. Be sure the backbone is level then tac in the 3/8” plates to the back bone. Remove and finish weld the plates to the backbone.

Re: Modded Rock 4x High Trans Mount
Here is a few pics of the end result with captions. Very happy that the old trans mount is gone much cleaner. The most important to me is I don’t have to bang my head on that stock trans crossmember any more.
Hope this gives some food for thought.
