My sammy 1.3 just give up rings knacked. So I've got a 1.6 p reg vitara, and I was wundring what part are compatable I no I can use the power steering setup but that's about it.

Also the parts needed for the swap I no I need a adapter plate fit box to engine what else will I need. Thanks for help guys Andy

Definitely a good idea putting a vit engine in... seems kinda pointless replacing with another 1.3 when you can upgrade!!!
Right so things you can take off a vit... engine, power steering (requires an adapter wedge for the box to sit in right place),
rear axle can be used for a rear coil conversion... front diff will go with it

You may also need the green plug that goes into the back of the alternator, as more often than not you need to mod the sj wiring to run the Vitara alternator

Yeah thats a very good point! Its not the end of the world if you don't have it but the green plug is always useful to have!
I look around in scrappies for them sometimes haha

No need for the adapter plate if you can weld. I have done 3 without one now and all ok.

Use all vitara ancillaries and run the vitara radiator for better cooling.

You dont even need to be able to weld really... I've put 3 engines in so far just by drilling out the top holes a little bit, then drilling through the bottom gearbox into the engine casing. Its pretty easy to do and saves a few pennies

To be honest though with the price of the muddyzook kit being as cheap as it is you could go either way
£25 isnt a lot for an adapter plate... Im just a tightwad haha

So am I best with vit rear axle to keep coils. And leave leafs up front with vit diff up front, is that right

Yeah spot on. Its a bit of an uncommon mod to put the vit rear axle on but its definitely do-able. Otherwise if you can find another vit front diff you can put the ring and pinions in your sammy diffs to change the ratios.
Yes as well, you can put vitara brakes on the front and use standard SJ calipers for rear discs. Lots of people do it so they dont need a brake bias adjuster valve

Thanks for the info spot on, would i need the brake master cynlder as well for the vitara brakes.

Also could I use the vitra fuel pump or would I need a different sort
