Welcome to the club.
I admit I know sod all about the automatic gearbox in a vit

, but having a look at the diagrams it shows the lever to gearbox as a cable (this would need verifying) . If this is the case I would expect the cable to have enough movement to handle a bodylift. Also any switches on the lever would probably have enough slack to handle a 2" lift.

I think so. The early Vitara automatics were 3 speed, but I think the 5 door Grand Vitaras were introduced with a 4 speed auto. That's off the top of my head, not gospel.

Hi Mate,
thanks for the help! its a 1990 vit I'm pretty sure its got 3 gears, not really payed much attention

, all that I've done to it at the moment is added a inch bush above the spring and a set of tyres, only problem is need a bit more height as the tyres go up into rear arch and were there wider than the arch rub, so was thinking i got some 2 inch box section laying around was gonna give it a try... (Fingers Crossed) ... is there anything else i would have to change if i raise it 2 inches?
thanks
