Hi, i have a SJ410 on 255 70 R15's and want to know if i can fit 31" x 10.5" tyres to my vit rims without lifting the SJ, i have a virtual lift but not sure if they would rub against the chassis or anything?..
so does anyone have 31's on 10.5" wide wheels on stock supsension...

They generally need 2 inch lift and the lip on the front arches hammering flat.
Cant see a problem with fitting on standard springs as long as your VL provides enough space.
Did you modify the bulkhead at the rear of the front arches for the VL? If not there wont be space.

no i didnt modify the bulk head as when i done the virtual lift i wasnt aware of the mod it was just an idea to make the arches a bit bigger so it looks like its lifted, i had no intensions on fitting bigger tyres at that time lol, and do you know how i can lift my sj without paying an arm and a leg or making the suspension even harder...

Every lift has its pros and cons.
To do it on the cheap you could put the rear springs on the front and find some bedford rascal springs for the rear.
I personally have no experience of this setup but it has a reputation of being the better of the cheap methods.

Was going to say that also. I dont personally like the way they look and also they raise your COG and cause a few other things to need adjusting etc but deffo a cheap and easy way of doing it.

if i need to i can put some spacers on it as i can bend the arches out a bit to give me more width...
with adding a total of 6" to the width of my zuk it should be okay with a bodylift..

I tried 31's on my samurai when it was standard & they didn't fit at all, so I fitted the Calmini 3.5" reverse shackles lift & 32mm spacers, they fitted better but rubbed something chronic, I knocked the lip off the bulk head bit still had a huge issue, so I got rid of them & fitted 235/75r15 which were a lot better for me and measure 29" across

I'm gonna say the only way to find out if they fit is to try them, chances are if you haven't modded the bulkhead they won't but then you could try redrilling the spring perches and plates to locate the axle 1" forward. It's actually easier to get larger tyres on 410s be because of the narrower axles.
Tramp I would imagine the shackle reversal wouldn't help with the larger tyres. when the spring compresses the wheel moves closer to the bulkhead. It's much easier to fit larger tyres with the stock set up as the wheel moves forwards away from the bulkhead as the spring compresses.
