To be honest I would contact the seller first as quite a few after-market tachometers don't like points.
Did you fit that electrickory box to yours ??
I assume the condenser going to earth buggers up the signal ???

i got a tim rev guage in the end so it would match all my others and tbh i got it for a steal in the local motor factors as they marked it up wrong!

there was four wires in the back of it and a switch.. one wire was pos other neg , one was the earth, and the other one was to light it up ;)

and the switch on the back of it was to adjust it inside to say if its a 4,6 or 8 cylinder engine ;)

Don't bother with the one you posted in the original post! I have one and it's not at all accurate! I'm not sure if it's because I don't have a noise suppressor fitted but all it does is move around and read whatever it feels like.

I really think Gauges are something it's worth spending a bit extra on, I have a complete set of the ones in the original post and I'm going to replace them with some nice ones.

Tim gauges are make in the UK I think and are pretty accurate as far as I'm aware. I would just steer clear of the cheaper Chinese made gauges!

auto meter are also good

Defi are apparently good, however I think there are quite a few fake defi gauges on ebay.
