Any difference between early and later samurai models?

Post by findonchris » Thu Nov 01, 2012 2:48 pm

Hi guys

I've brought two axles off what i've been told is an 88 89 F reg samurai. I have a 1992 K reg samurai and the rear drums look a lot different. Is there any other differences or is it gunna be a straight swap? Its come with brakes and leaf springs are these all gunna be about the same?

Cheers for now
Chris

Yours is rather young and therefore almost guaranteed to be spanish

the one you have axles from is very early for a sammy and therefore more likely to be Jap

the drums are different, the plumbing for the brakes is different, the handbrake cable is different.

there is also the possibility that the diff flanges will be different or someone could have swapped a 413 diff in so be carefull if you intend to swap the whole axle over as ratios could be out.
