Rarely happens but sometimes when I turn the key to turn off the engine, it will turn off then immediately restart and then immediately die again.
My theory is high carbon build up on valves or combustion chamber which gets hot enough to restart the engine. Plugs look ok.
It can't possibly be spark can it with the ignition off. That's why it dies again so quickly because there's no spark to keep it running

I've had that a few times since fitting the SU carb, I just ignore it

It's probably due to the lack of a fuel cut off. Mine's done it once or twice. I cut the ignition and the revs drop then it fires and pinks like a b****** 2 or 3 times then gives up and stops. Similar noise to what you hear in the movies when old American V8s are turned off.
