insurance for new driver

I've just passed my test and im 18 and I want to get on the road with my Suzuki samurai but the insurance is,a killer cheapest quote I've had is 4650 pounds anyone have any ideas on how to get it down I've got my dad as a named driver :thumbdown:

You won't need insurance if you dont hurry and get it finished!

best quote i got when i was 17 was from the co-op, actually i think it was the only one i could afford! lol. both me and edweird use them but we have 410s, the little one liters. although i think i did hear ed say they quoted him the same for a 413? give em a try anyway, they came through for me after every one else turned me down :)

im in the same situation mate, got me zuk sat in a storage with a MOT on it but can afford to insure it... my zuk has just gone up £2000 for insurance.

try confused.com and just near the end make sure you tick yes for the electronic box (telematic box) and say that you never drive between 10pm and 6am it makes a huge difference for me...

best quote i got was off go compare for 970 but it didn't insure the car only the other persons stuff.

Elephant have always been the cheapest for me, they do a thing where you get 10month for a lot cheaper but you still get a years no claims from it.

I'd give admiral a try, I've been with then since I've passed as they're reet cheap!
