Headlight issues

Hi all,
Hope someone can help.
The main headlights on my SJ413 are not working, but main beam is fine !?!
I have power to the units, and both bulbs seem fine.
Main beam works on flash and constant settings.
Interior dash lights working as are side lights.
Switch appears to be working, clicks when turned.
Is there a relay somewhere ? (cant see one on the haynes wiring diagram).
HELP PLEASE

It could also be a wiring problem or a relay. I lost dip beam on one side because a wire had corroded. The headlights are wired to each other and then the passenger side one is wired to the relays and such.
A multimeter would be very useful in finding the problem if you've got one. For finding breaks in wires what I do is set it to measure resistance on a really high scale, then measure between the two points I want to check. If they're connected then the multimeter should give you a fairly low reading, usually zero. If they're not connected you'll get mega-ohms or off the scale.

Hi Paul
The haynes manual for the SJ wiring is useless. Here is the circuit diagram for the Japanese built models (switched earth).
It sounds like the r/w wire is open circuit or the high/low switch is playing up.
I think I understood your request but have reworded it as I was not sure (sorry).
If yours is Spanish built it could well be switched live and therefore a different diagram.

Hi. Thanks for all the info, i think mine is Japanese made as its switched earth. I will trace the wires again tomorrow.

On mine the problem was difficult to find. I had to literally feel the wire carefully until I found a little nick through the insulation that had allowed the wires inside to corrode.
