I have read the posts on fuselink info and on my Samurai i have no link previous owner repacd with a bit of house wire !!!!!
So as Im doing loads of work so this is my plan see if this makes sense
From battery with a length of Heavy Duty (75Amp Continuous Rating) Wire to Battery Isolator/Cut Off Switch inside anus.
From Cut off switch length of same wire to a MIDI TYPE CAR TRUCK MARINE IN LINE FUSE HOLDER WITH 40 AMP FUSE then to White/Yellow wire into loom.
Then run a new wire from alternator to battery with Length of same wire.
Does this make sense ????

I think I understand what you're saying.

I'm using a 30 Amp fuse in my truck in place of the fusible link. It's been in for a long while now and hasn't blown. I might be mistaken but I think that if you can use a smaller fuse it's a good idea because it will blow quicker if something goes wrong.

You will not need the wire that runs directly from the alt to the battery. All your doing in effect is replacing and extending the fusible link with a cut off switch and fuse so there's no need to add any additional wiring.

Yes but the alternator to loom is a bit on the dodgy side so Im going to replace everything so:-
It will be Cut Off - Fuse -Loom
Alternator to Battery
Or should I do Cut Off - Fuse - Loom
Then Alternator fo fuse then loom

What's dodgy about the alternator to loom?

If you are wiring the alt straight to the battery I would fuse it.

The wire has been cut joined and generally butchered so if I bring wire from cut off switch to fuse and a wire from alternator to same end of fuse, then into loom this then will be the same as per original.
Or maybe put 2 fuses
One from Cut Off To Loom
and One From Alternator to Battery
What size fuses should I go for.
