I'm just ranting now.
Why when there is any gods amount of space in the services has the fridge wagon had to park next to me?
And i know reverse buzzers are a H&S thing. But late on a night when some of us are in bed why cant the tossers turn them off for when they reverse up next to us!
Not sure i'm actually classed as driver any more i've only driven 12 hours in 3 days.
I enjoy the job but at times you just want to go mental with a piece of 2 x 4!
Rant over!

Re: Ignorant drivers
I swear the standard of driving in general has just gone down hill. Every morning and evening I seem to be getting stuck behind more and more cyclists, yes that's it cyclists! Since when did you need to give them so much space you might as well be overtaking another car??? It's like they are the new tractor in this area with a line of 20 cars doing 15mph behind them, now I can understand on some roads there's not room to over take but on the a4 there's more than enough space to go around a cyclist with traffic coming the other way.
I'm a cyclist and its so annoying when you get cars hovering on your ass instead of just going around you, you only need to give us 2ft of space and that puts your outside wheel just over the white line. I'd rather you get off my ass and overtake a bit closer than just sit behind me for 1/2 a mile+
I think I'm turning into a grumpy old man, that's my second rant in two days

Re: Ignorant drivers
up until last may i was a driving instructor for 12 years.
you would not believe the hassle i and my pupils got from other drivers, mainly middle aged men, but also oldies, and youngies, male and female.
i have been driven into 3 times, from behind, and the first one tried blaming my pupil!!!!!!!
a swift threat of phoning the police made him change his mind and everytime i saw him on the road i used to just grin at him, knowing that my ncb was safer than his.
when you concider that a lot of young females have little or no confidence in general let alone incharge of a car, they need a lot of coaxing and help to get more confidant behind the wheel, this is then all lost when an arogant git decides to play silly buggers and beep the horn, pull in/out just in front of us or worse still sit 3in from the rear bumper.
i have seen it all and the standard of driving is getting worse, but no one seems to do anything about it, even the police are of no help when they see us tailgated by a 44 ton truck, breaking the speed limit.
my wife would not drive the car with the 'L' plates on it, it got that bad.
one of the reasons i gave it up, now i can give as good as i get as no one knows what my job is.
i concider myself one of the most patiant people on the road but it does make me mad when they drive dangerously near my and my family.
i must admit i now feel a lot safer driving the hilux on the road rather than the car!
