Ive just bought a 410 with a 1.6 8v vitara engine half in it (i think the guy gave up half way)
im told its a 1.6 8v engine with a 1.3 5 speed gear box and a 1 litre transfur box.

Idealy i need to get it running first so then i can put it in my other 410, but where do i start??

I guess what i need is a couple of links to some really good 1.6 8v conversion guides so i can start from scratch.

So if u guys have any links or info it would be real helpful, thx

How far converted is it? Is it SPI or carburettor? And wiring in? There is a write up in the diy section on the front page.

Also what year is the sj410 it's going in? Both now and next. Early 410s before 84 have a different gearbox mount.

Is the engine actually fitted? What things do you need help with? wiring? All the info can be found on this site, have a look in the stickies and DIY section etc.

The near side is bolted onto the mount (but i hear thats a direct fit) However the other side of the engine just rests against the mount i think ive got to finish off that mount.
There is a carb bolted onto the side of it not really looked in much detail.
Both of the cars are 1988 E reg.

I guess i need to know what carb needs to be on it so im not fighting a losing battle trying to get this one running.

Also it doesnt look like its wired in yet so thats going to be a mission as im colour blind lol

Chuck some photos up and Im sure we will be able to help a bit more with carb identification and wiring/mounting the engine.
