2000 Suzuki Swift Radio

Post by luke 626 » Fri Feb 08, 2013 3:02 pm

The radio has stopped working, along with the cig lighter, but the clock works fine. I cannot find a fuse for these, i have checked the radio connections and there is no power going through them.

Where is the fuse??? or what is it called??? i cannot find anything under the bonnet or in the engine bay!

Thanks

On my sj 410 there is a fuse box I. The footwells of the drivers side
And it should be the bottom right for the cigarette lighter and the radio

If that doesn't work

There is probably a second fuse box inside the car. Probably somewhere under the steering wheel or maybe on the passenger side.
86 SJ413 tin top, 1.6 8v, SU carb, YJ spring conversion, virtual lift, 33x12.5x15 KL71's, rocklobster, rear discs, power steering.

thanks for the quick replies, i made an error in my post i meant to say under the steering wheel and in the engine bay.

Under the steering wheel there is a small brown box, with very little fuses, ive never seen a modernish car have so little fuses, i know they were first released in 1986, but this car has all the options!!

theres is none called radio etc, which is strange because there usually is.

Something else i can add is that the digital clock is connected to the same loom and that works fine.

The trouble is im in a hurry in selling this car for my boss and not having a radio will seriously de-value it.

The radio might have it's own fuse. I've seen some cars with inline fuses connected to the radio. They sorta look like household fuses but longer.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Found a circuit diagram and it shows 2 fuses , having another look online they are up under the dash somewhere.
