alright guys, a quick question. about the king pins on my sj.

ive got a fair amount of play in the nsf king pin. are they shimmed? if so i should be able to remove a shim or two to take up the slack?

failing that does anyone know a good supplier?

cheers

Should be shimmed unless some one done them already. Do you get your parts from your local motor factor? he should be able to get them

I wouldn't even bother removing shims to keep them going having done it to mine and having them fail a few K later once I had lost all the shims I removed!

Once the races have started wearing its time to change them anyway.

Some decent timkin bearings were only £15 so l'm sure you could find some cheaper ones.

15x42x14.25 metric taper roller bearing 30302

Just ask what brands they supply and choose a price that suits you.

As per usual more you pay better you get.

Sure the bearing company will be able to help. Suzuki wanted £120 for a full set!

I figured bigger tyres means more stress so went for the best they had.

I'm cheap so I always pull the shims to get a bit more life out of them.

Suzuki use KOYO bearings as standard ;)
