add-a-leaf.....devils handy work?
So my front springs are riding on flat, and my backs are looking a little worse for wear, when i have the money she'll get a proper lift, but for the time being is it worth £100 to whack on 4 add a leafs as any undulation/pot hole/speed bump breaks one of my spine discs one by one.....?!

Re: add-a-leaf.....devils handy work?
Don't think add-a-leafs work with worn springs. Your other springs have to be in good condition in the first place.
Re: add-a-leaf.....devils handy work?
that's right, your leaf's have to be good to start with, or else your old springs will just form themselves around the add a leaf's, and they'll break in no time at all, as they will be carrying all the weight. better to save up for some new springs mate
It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out

Re: add-a-leaf.....devils handy work?
I got add a leafs about 5 or 6 years ago. My springs were completely flat and knackered.
I only really got them because they were basically free (donation to team chaos) and I needed them on to fit my bargain tyres
Only just snapped one in half last month
Personally though, I got some new potty springs from Llama 4x4 not so long ago and its SO worth saving and getting a set of them instead

personaly im all for add a leafs, i ran them on my old truck all the time i had it, and before that the springs where worn. if i remember correctly theres a picture on lama4x4 of him using them on flat springs. they do give a stife ride, lots of lift though.
oh and mine never broke even after thrashing it off road!

Personally I'd rather have a soft ride and less lift than run add-a-leafs, they are in the same league as lift shackles in my opinion. I.e. a cheap option that has less than desirable results and will never give you the same result as spending the extra on some lift springs.

Horses for couses i would say on this subject.
Never used AAL or lift shackles and now i've acquired a few spare props i hope to avoid prop spacers too.
Fingers crossed next month will be some 33s with a whole 1.5" of lift done to fit them.

I have a leafs & have no problem with them, however if I had the budget I would of gone for all new suspension. The Rough Country leafs are well made parts & were made for a Ford Bronco.

Mine are currently bending over the wrong way....and I'm temporarily skint hence why I asked, but if its worth saving for a decent set ill make do, unless anyone has any part used ones kicking about?
