I stripped my rear axle, and painted it all, and when I started putting it together, I noticed that on one side the bearing retainers were a little bent

is this alright, or do I need to take it all apart and bend the retainer straight?

I would wait for some more opinions but to me it's bent like that because the retainer plate is not sitting flush with the drum backplate. I can't think what could cause this. :er: :er:

However my backplate is the retainer so I may be talking s**t.
Just thinking out loud really

Are the bolts done up tight in that pic? If not try cranking them up tight, might pull it in a bit and then you could just hammer the middle in. To be honest they are pretty flimsy anyway and should still hold the bearing in ok like that. Shame your in NZ Muddyzook sell heavyduty bearing retainers that are a good upgrade.

I undid bolts in tha picture, as soon as I saw they were as crooked as that. I will just tighten them up, and hammer them sort of straight, and she'll be fine :D
