Stuck sump

Hey guys,
kind of a depressing one tonight, theres been quite a bad oil leak from my sump for a while now so i thought tonight was the night to do it, but i cant get it off:( ive undone all the bolts and given it a good few wacks from the top with a hammer and pry bar but it doesnt want to budge. ive tried prying inbetween with a screwdriver but it just starts to bend the sump which im a bit worried about doing, i dont want to ruin the seal or scratch the face so it leaks.
any advice would be much appreciated:)
I ordered a new sump gasket and a new rocker gasket from ebay, and the company sent me through a complete gasket set!! me very happy!!
So when i took the rocker cover off i found the inside in a horrible state, theres really thick layers of oil burnt into the metal. so now i want to take out the cams and the rockers and completely clean them so i know oil is getting to them. so do you think its a good idea to do the head gasket while im there? im a bit on the fence with this one coz it might be better not to disturb it, but it would be easier to clean the head if i can take it off.
Thanks for all the help guys, i hope you can understand my nonsense
