1600 PAS pump - moving it

Post by Jordi » Fri Apr 19, 2013 11:15 am

Put it in the engine sections cos' thats what it's bolted to.

Dan mentioned it can be moved so the fan belt fits it (so only needs one spare belt size) and it doesn't foul anywhere.

Is this a straight unbolt re-bolt? Any brackets required?

Cheers

Nice but its not a g13 its on my g16. I just did it to get it to clear the standard rad mounts. The g13 dosent have the required extra mounts to put it higher.

I bolted a peice of 5mm steel plate to the side of the block then just welded the pump bracket to the plate ;)

I like Dan. Its precise and specific.

I like toms. Its quick and simple.

Thanks for the input. I'll go with one of them. May do the specific and precise one while the engine is on the floor.

option 3 like me was to leave the original mount where it was and make new radiator mounts.

Both alt and power steering are fitted with the same belts.

Hmmm, i need to look at my rad mounts Scott. I have a vit rad to go it but no vit brackets.

I could scrap all the original rad bits and build it from scratch to suit.
