Hello to all,
I will be doing 16v swap into my samurai. I would like to know if I can just remove all none engine management wiring from 16v harness and leave wires from ecu to engine and other components. Will this work or am I missing something? I will run power from samurai harness to 1.6 harness to power ecu. The wiring diagram I would like to use is below.

Re: 1.6 16v swap wiring
Yes that is the way I would do it, don't forget to get the best results you'll want to fit a VSS into the speedo, there's a number of ways to do this, ill post some links up later.
Re: 1.6 16v swap wiring
Thanks guys. I have the warbird wiring manual but I was wondering if instead of completely deconstructing the harness if I can just deconstruct the ecu connector side of the harness and label the wires. Then after remove all auxillary non engine specific wiring, then reconstruct ecu connectors wiring and run power to 1.6 white power wire for ecu power. I think that wire is A1 on wire diagram. Am I missing anything here?

Re: 1.6 16v swap wiring
Welcome to the club
I've got this diagram of the MFI wiring..... EDIT: But now I have a better one for the manual transmission version (nicked from the link above, just cut, pasted and spliced )
And credit to J.Benoit for doing this diagram in the first place

I don't understand this wiring diagram though. Is the one I put up sufficient?

Re: 1.6 16v swap wiring
I used warbirds diagram when I did my 16v swap I also did not strip the loom into individual wires and connectors I just started at each plug and removed any wires not on the diagram. I then put in the feeds for fuel pump e, t, c and then tested each cable or connection for continuity and then taped up the loom and it runs fine.
