It's a bit small for regular use really, you would probably need to use a snatch block a lot of the time if you were really stuck, for light use it would probably be ok.
Personally the minimum I would run is 6000lbs but would probably go for a 8-9000lbs to be on the safe side.
Saying that I was looking at a little 4500lbs one for the back of mine as its usually a bit easier to pull yourself out backwards

I run a warn 8274-50 and a goodwinch tds on sjs I can vouch for them both they are great winches.

I've seen a couple of these winchmax's in action they're nowhere near as quick as the 8274 or goodwinch but still are very capable, a few of my mates have run them for a couple of years I can't fault there reliability.
