A few weeks ago I saw some alloys with some BIG tyres on ebay...they cost me £40
I removed the tyres and sold them on ebay for £55 so good times so far
Saw some BFG Muds on ebay but I'm out of town when the auction ends so I sent a message and did a deal...£216. The auction stated
"4 x BF GoodRich OffRoad Tyres and wheels as new, came off my Suzuki SJ400. Tyres have been used for approx 1hr from new. My offroader would not fit on its trailer with it's wheels on it so these were used for transporting it on its trailer between events only"
Jordi you'll be proud of me... traveled 290 miles to collect!!
Had the BFGs put on the alloys today and fitted to the SJ...and it looks AWESOME!!! They are 235/75x15 so the anus has gone up an inch or so. I had to exercise the grinder on the front cross-member so that the bigger tyres didnt catch but having driven back from the workshop I realised I will need to trim the bumper too...something to chase tomorrow
I reckon 235/75s are probably as big as you can go without a lift of some sort...I guess it depends on what the springs are like...
So..I am £306 up the road with the BFGs & Alloys including fuel to collect and removal and fitting of tyres and sale of bigger tyres
THE GOOD NEWS is I have the bits I don't need to put on ebay
2 x 195/80x15 Cooper Discovery A/T with lots of tread on 5.5" white 8-spokes
2 x 195/80x15 Goodyear Wrangler with lots of tread on 5.5" white 8-spokes
4 x steel wheels that I think are 6"...they measure 7" outside rim to inside rim. There is no stamp on them
4 x 30mm spacers with nuts
Once I have sold these bits I reckon that the over all cost for my 'new' wheels and tyres will represent rather good value for money
Sometimes I just love ebay...
