This might seem stupid to some but i am about to replace the clutch on my sj410 and when i removed the old one it wasnt very well lit.i have the new clutch assembly ready to fit but i need to know which way round the clutch disc goes? the centre of the disc as in the slotted hole sticks out further on one side of the disc than the other.my guess is the longer side face the gearbox and the shorter side faces the flywheel/engine? just want to make sure before i go ahead? This is my first ever clutch replacement btw! Cheers

I'm pretty sure you're right with the longer side going towards the gearbox.

Sometimes, but not always, the longer boss will foul on the flywheel when you offer it up. Also clutch plates occasionally have flywheel side stamped on them, or is this in the good old days?

Good luck with the change.
