Hi all

My 410 has still got original 1986 waterpump so as part of service was going to change it. After much reading I am still not clear if this is easy or not. Have read that for the sj413 is easy job. Am I right in thinking that on the SJ410 after taking timing belt off will still need to remove a rear cover but that means removing at least lower crank pulley. If so how do I do that at home, how to block engine turning and remove without air tools, is it possible ?
Any pointers to a write up on this job very welcome.

thanks
Steve

Leave it in gear and have someone stick their foot on the brake. Usually stops the engine turning over for me.

Is it leaking water?

No, no water leaks, was just thinking that as changing timing belt should just get water pump done at same time. Or is it ok just to feel if bearing seems ok and not overheating to leave it for now ?

I only changed mine when it broke. I go with "if it aint broke, don't ¥%#€ with it".
