I hear people going on about welding up the rear diff as a cheap diff lock, but of course that knackers you up for road driving. Would it not just work as well welding up the front diff, then for road driving just unlock the free wheeling hubs?

Say goodbye to your turning circle
and if you haven't got power steering you'd need arms of steel!

I have arms of steel so thats that problem sorted. Surely off road it wouldnt be that hard to turn would it?!

Say good buy to your front axle. On tarmac it'll rip itself apart.
MOT wise / insurance wise / road legal wise i think its a no no too.

Im gettin that i shouldnt do it but on tarmac if you had your freewheeling hubs unlocked it wouldn't matter surely?
