I know if I put my rear disc brake caliper straight up, it will foul on the bumpstop, so people recomend to run them at 45 degree angle. this would cause me to drill the holes in the caliper mounts in the weak parts, so do you lot recon it will be alright to run the calipers horizontally, so that I can drill the holes in the strong parts of the mount?

No problem running them at that angle, you'll just need to unbolt them from the calliper and rotate them so that the nipple is at the top when you bleed them otherwise you won't get all the air out.

What he said, I had to mount mine at an odd angle, and like scottie said, just unbolted, used a caliper rewind tool to stop the piston comming out, and bled away, brakes are now pin sharp
