Virtual lift Q&As

Post by suzukisteve » Tue Jun 25, 2013 10:19 pm

I've been thinking of a virtual lift as it will take me one step close to a rust free truck. I'm having second thoughts on the virtual lift already as the fronts are in pretty good condition.

what do you guys think? I really don't know :er:

Virtual lift is quick and easy rust removal and easy way to fit bigger tyres. Loses a bit of originality though.

All depends what your longer term plans are?

hmmm basically I want a good strong solid truck that can handle most things I throw at it and I want reliability as well. it would seem that the virtual lift would be the most logical choice as the rust would be gone for good.
plus I can make the arches smooth underneath with no places for mud to hide and cause rust.

This was my next question! Think it would be the deciding factor for me.

30" is about the limit for a Suzuki that you can thrash offroad, 33s are about the limit as long as they aren't too aggressive and you drive with your head and not a heavy right foot.

30-31s go on quite easy with no virtual lift as well, just need to trim the front bumper mounts quite a bit.

Also take in consideration what engine you want to run, not sure I'd want to go bigger than 30" with an F10

31s require cutting in my experience. Mine hit the bulk head badly, the springs were dead when i fitted them though.

215/235 are a good size on a standard Zuk, fill the arches nicely and don't require cutting or lifting. Not too big to start snapping things.

33s look brutal though! Makes me laugh though, a 1lt with 33s.

IMO if you are going to the effort of doing the work do a VL.

Seems like a wasted chance at a mod otherwise.

I still haven't upgraded tyre size yet since doing mine but its sure nice knowing the space is there.

I didnt really like the look of my huge empty arches when I first did it but now I love it.

yeah my all terrains are 215/85r15. I wouldn't wanna go much bigger than that to be honest as I love the insas I got off robbie.

just spoke to my mate paul and were gonna pull her into his garage next week and do the virtual lift. so gonna have a few days to research methods etc etc

I will warn you virtual lift look quite odd with small tyres  you need at least 31s for it too look right in my opinion

This was with my first VL that you'll probably be doing it like.

Yeah I didnt mean that small.

Thats with the little lift your YJs give though.

VL is perfect for 31s.

Guess some dont consider 31s small. I want shot of mine they are tiny!
