rear suspension

Whilst looking for an annoying squeak coming from the back I noticed I could turn the top of both suspension struts by hand...they aren't going anywhere, very solid but is this normal? Could it be some kind of adjusting thing?

Any ideas welcome

I'm presuming you mean the outer of the shocker, just below the rubber bushes? If it is then it's not an issue.

You can hold the small bit of the thread poking out of the top with a small spanner, about 6 to 8mm I think and try tightening the full hexagon nut.

It might be worth squirting a little WD40 or similar onto the bushes, as it might be those squeaking.

You can twist most shocks by hand. :)
