basically I've got 2x 6x9" speakers and want to fit 2x 10cm speakers in the doors but need to run wires to my doors for the speaker wires and the central locking actuators..

so has anyone ran wires into the doors if so how have you done it?

also if anyone has fitted speakers in the doors what speakers have you uses and how much do they stick out of the door card?

thanks for any help...

Have you already got speakers in the holes in front of the doors? There really isn't much space in an Sj door to fit speakers unless they are mounted in a pod that mounts to the door card.

I'd be amazed if you could get speakers in the door. On my old SJ I had 2 in the footwell and 2 on the back, when I got harnesses I put 2 more speakers in the area where the inertia reel sat. 4 was very loud, 6 stunned cows at 50 paces...

yep they would stick out of the door too much, so I'm going to buy some 6.5" speakers to go in the kick panels going to use speaker spacers so I can adapt them to fit, that'll be next weeks when I've got some spare cash..

I found, by chance, that the speakers out of the front doors of a mk1 Discovery were the same size as the blown ones in my truck when I got it, although it had some adapters to fit smaller speakers already in for some reason so I just reused the adapters.

If you can find an ES model Disco to take the speakers from they're pretty decent quality speakers, plus the metal cover that protects them should also fit.

see the metal plate that your speakers are in are solid in mine so they blank the hole off completely so I'm going to get some aftermarket speakers to go in the holes with the adaptors, I still need to get a sheet of 3mm ply as I'm going to line the whole car with it inside, so up the sides in the back as mine is a van and the roof and make some kick panels aswel..
